Trust and Estate Administration, Nonprofit Organizations, Estate Planning, Corporations, Real Estate, Contracts
Josh practices in the areas of trust and estate administration, corporate and business transactions, nonprofit organizations, estate planning, real estate, contracts and other transactional matters. This typically involves working with families to plan the succession of business or farming operations from one generation to the next, or helping a family administer a trust after the death of a family member. Josh also works with start up companies to plan and form new business structures, and counsels existing businesses for growth and change, considering tax issues, control and other business concerns. Josh has expertise in the organization and operation of nonprofit tax-exempt organizations and has assisted with hundreds of nonprofit start ups, as well as complex regulatory compliance and ongoing operational issues for nonprofits of all size.
While in law school, Josh worked for a boutique Beverly Hills law firm that specialized in tax-exempt organizations, including private foundations, public charities, and educational and religious organizations. From this experience, Josh continued his nonprofit practice and has advised nonprofits from startup to national organizations. After law school, Josh came back to the Central Valley and practiced civil litigation with a well-respected litigation firm in Fresno, California. Then, he joined the trust and estates department of the second-largest law firm in the Valley. After twelve years in the big firm environment, Josh and his law partner established the Ainley Alipaz firm to continue to provide expert legal services in a client-focused environment.
Josh was born and raised outside of Visalia, California. He received his Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles and bachelor’s degrees from Westmont College. Josh lives in Visalia with his wife and a household that includes four teenagers. Outside the office, Josh spends time with his family on the central coast, or building something out of wood.
